Seems like a strange day to start a garden

Today seems like a strange day to start a garden.  Ice, snow, and more ice!  A day like today brings back fresh memories of bringing Selah home from the hospital almost a year ago - to very similar conditions!  (There was MORE snow on the ground that day!).

Despite the weather trying to tell us otherwise, spring is coming!  We're getting a jump start on our spring garden by doing some indoor seeding.  So far, this is easier than it sounds.  We picked up a plastic seed flat from Lowe's for $4, added organic dirt, and I just sprinkled some broccoli and cabbage seeds on top.  I finished off by lightly watering them and covering them with the plastic top.  Now we wait for the God stuff to happen!

I'm particularly excited because these heirloom non-GMO seeds.  All the healthier for us!
